In today’s dynamic business environment, organizations are faced with the continual challenge of improving business performance by leveraging their existing IT assets within current infrastructures, and delivering timely and relevant information to their extended user communities, in context to the specific business process tasks. The disparity and silos of back-end systems housing the required information makes the process of assembly, contextualization, personalization and delivery further complex. Users who require both dynamic and “actionable” information access for team collaboration and decision support, also need the ability to contextualize, create and publish information “views” for their teams. |

In Gartner’s publication on High Performance Workplaces (The Information Workplace Will Redefine The World Of Work — At Last! - June 1, 2005), the design of the individual’s desktop or “workplace” must provide contextual intelligence through a flexible and meaningful alignment of information sources. Information should be readily accessible, personalized or metaphorically presented to the user, and be event driven, should critical alerts require immediate action by the business community. |
